Lakes and Rivers of the Ozarks
With all the lakes and rivers that define this region, it's easy to spend an entire vacation at a lakeside resort, or camped by a river.
Table Rock Lake offers swimming, boating and fishing to your heart’s content, plus easy access to Branson and Eureka Springs attractions. Nearby Taneycomo and Bull Shoals are rustic lakes.
Eureka Springs West sits on the east side of Arkansas's Beaver Lake. Plenty of amenities nearby, and this pristine lake is a favorite of SCUBA divers.
The North Central Arkansas Ozarks are the home of the Buffalo National River, part of Bulls Shoals Lake, and sections of the White River. You'll also find the Norfork River and Lake Norfork in this region.
Stockton, Pomme de Terre and Truman Lakes in Missouri are country lakes with fewer nearby attractions. They're perfect for when the highlight of your trip is time on the water. And if you want a "touristy" lake with lots of amenities, Missouri's Lake of the Ozarks is perfect.
The Ozarks region is dotted with smaller lakes, good for a day of fishing from the bank or a rowboat, or for kayaking and canoeing. And Missouri and NW Arkansas have some excellent rivers which serve as the backdrop for fishing vacations, or canoeing and kayaking adventures.
