horseback riding, the Ozarks

Horseback Riding in Branson

Country music, country crafts, down-home country cooking: they're all part of the Branson experience. Why not take it one step further, and actually spend some time out in the countryside?
The best way to do that is on horseback. It's a relaxing, enjoyable way to explore the lush back country and hills and hollers of the Ozark Mountains, sometimes going where you'd never manage on foot or on a mountain bike.

Bear Creek Trail Rides Family owned and operated. Gentle horses, easy to handle. Beautiful, shaded trails across a 500-acre private ranch along Bear Creek. Hour long rides. Seven miles north of town. 3400 US Hwy 65, Walnut Shade. 417-337-7708
Canyon Creek Ranch Two different trails rides: one more of a mountain adventure, one across firelds. Friendly guides; experienced, gentle horses. 700 Expressway Ln, Branson. 417-335-6003
Dogwood Canyon Horseback Rides Scenic rides explore the park. Variety of trail rides. Reservations strongly recommended. Rides head out Mon-Sat, several times a day (varies seasonally). 2038 W. State Hwy 86, Lampe. 417-335-2777
Shepherd of the Hills Trail Ride  Guided 30-min. trail rides though the Shepherd of the Hills on routes once used by local vigilantes. May-Sept. 5586 W Hwy 76, Inspiration Point, Branson. 800-653-6288
Uncle Ike's Trail Rides Daily guided horseback rides since 1970. 2.5 mile, hour-long ride on trails from the 1880s. Open every day, but hours are seasonal. 8393 W Hwy 76, Reeds Spring. 417-338-8449
