Restaurants in Springfield, MO

The good news: more than 800 places to eat in Springfield, MO. The bad news: it's hard to choose. Visitors sometimes expect Ozarks towns to offer little beyond Southern-style comfort cooking and fast food joints. You certainly can get your fill of that in Springfield, but there's now plenty of ethnic cuisine, with Thai, Korean, Japanese, Vietnamese, and Chinese restaurants being most prominent. There are also several excellent Italian restaurants in Springfield, and lots of pubs with tasty sandwiches and bar food.

A Few of our Favorites:

Asian

Golden Korean Restaurant Best appetizer: pan-fried Korean dumplings.
Best entree: Beef Bulgogi, a popular Korean entree. Best of all: Banchan (little traditional side dishes) with nearly every entree. Fast, friendly, courteous and very pleasant. Prices are reasonable, and servings generous. 1406 W. Sunshine St. Closed Tuesday. 417-832-1093
Koriya Bowls of fresh veggies and rice or noodles, your choice of protein. Excellent miso soup comes free with meal. Wholesome, tasty, lots of vegetarian and vegan options. Reasonable prices. 4121 S Fremont Ave. (417) 882-0077. Open every day but Sunday for lunch and dinner.

Barbeque

Buckingham's Their food just keeps getting better, with new sides and new entrees. Decent prices, good servings. Three locations in Springfield: 2415 North Glenstone Ave, 2002 South Campbell Ave, and 3624 East Sunshine St.
Whole Hog Cafe Moist, flavorful meats, and the tray of bottled sauces on your table allow you to flavor things exactly to your taste. Beer and wine available.  224 W. Sunshine. 417-868-0042

Branson Restaurants

Branson has more than 200 restaurant, so no matter what you like to eat, you can probably find it. Downtown Branson on Commercial St. or Main St., and Branson Landing are filled with dining establishments from seafood to traditional American to ethnic. Save room for snacks -- plenty of sweet shops and ice cream parlors here, too.

If you're in north Branson, or out near Silver Dollar City and the Hollister area, the best eateries include Reeds Spring's Greek restaurant Papouli's (a local favorite). Shell Knob has fast food choices, some decent grills, and a few very good eateries.
